DMV Learning publishes independent California driver-education materials. This page describes the current site at clearmiledmv.com.
What you enter on this site
The current pages do not ask you to create an account or provide your age, license history, notes, or identity documents. The learning checks use forms on the page to let you select and check answers. Learning pages handle your answers in your browser; they do not send your answers to DMV Learning. Some practice pages offer progress saved on this device. Your browser stores answers, position and practice results in local storage so you can return later. Use the page’s “Clear progress on this device” control to remove saved practice data, or clear this site’s data in your browser. Other people using the same browser profile may be able to see that saved progress. Please do not send us personal information through a public link or in a learning answer.
The site currently has no advertising or analytics scripts. Practice progress is stored locally as described above; it does not transfer to another device or website address. These statements describe the current pages and can change if the site changes.
Website requests and hosting
The site is delivered through Amazon CloudFront, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) service. When your browser requests a page or file, AWS processes the request information needed to deliver it. This can include the requested path and technical details about the browser and connection. On a cache miss, CloudFront sends the requested path and some request details to the site's storage origin. The current cache policy does not forward viewer-supplied cookies, query strings, or additional headers, but CloudFront still adds automatic request details. These can include the visitor's IP address in an X-Forwarded-For header and a normalized Accept-Encoding header.
As of November 2, 2026, standard CloudFront access logging and S3 origin server-access logging are disabled in the inspected configuration. AWS WAF, which protects the site, is configured to make samples of web requests available for inspection. A sample may include an IP address, country, requested path, method, HTTP version, request headers, timestamp, action, and matched rule. AWS says sampled requests are stored for up to three hours. This is a short-lived sample, separate from durable request logs.
We could not verify whether separate durable AWS WAF logs are enabled, where they would be stored, or how long they would be retained. AWS may also process or keep other operational or security records. We do not have confirmed retention periods for those records. AWS describes its own practices in its Privacy Notice and Data Privacy FAQ.
DMV Learning can view aggregate CloudFront delivery and AWS WAF security metrics to understand whether pages are being delivered and protected. Aggregate totals do not identify individual learners or show their answers, and do not reliably distinguish people from automated or internal requests. Separate WAF request samples may include identifying network and request details as described above.
